Casa Esperanza, the main house.
The main house consists of a large living room , a study and a kitchen on the ground level and a main and guest bedroom on the upper level, Attached to the main house on the west side is a two room cottage, described in a separate section. On the east side is a building containing the garage, the utility room and a toilet. The three mentioned buildings and a wall enclose a large, sheltered courtyard or patio.
The living room is spacious and has a very attractive roof structure. A wood burning fireplace insert and central heating keep the house warm in the winter evenings when the sun has gone down. The fuel for the central heating is liquid gas, which is stored in a tank in the garden. Two large French windows in the living room open on to a sheltered terrace, which is ideal for entertaining. Thanks to the covered terrace on the south side of the house the living room remains cool during the few days in the year when the temperature rises above 30C.
The study also has a French window that opens to the garden and windows on the west side that catch the evening sun.
The kitchen is unique, in Spanish country style. A door leads to a circular terrace, ideal for casual eating. There is sufficient room round the kitchen table to comfortably seat 6 persons.
The two bedrooms on the upper floor have en suite bathrooms and ample cupboard space. If required, additional bedrooms can be created by opening the wall between the study and the Casa Christina.
